Jacob Anderskov
Pianist, composer & band-leader Jacob Anderskov is one of the leading figures in Danish jazz today. Mostly associated with his own bands, such as Anderskov Accident, Jacob Anderskov Trio and An Auf, he has also collaborated with artists such as Lotte Anker, Jim Black, Gerald Cleaver, Marc Ducret, Michael Formanek, Frank Gratkowski, Mark Helias, Paul Lovens, Airto Moreira, Chris Speed and Cuong Vu. He has released 13 albums as a leader and toured all over Europe, as well as in Canada and the US.
When he received the Danish Government Art Foundation's prestigious 3-year Composers Working Grant in 2004, the committee wrote, a.o: "Jacob Anderskov masters the art of mixing inner emotionality and technical overview that simultaneously contrast and melt together to an organic unity. Through various expressions he juggles with form and content and creates a rare, sublime whole."
