Jacob Karlzon
Jacob Karlzon was born in Jönköping in 1970 and has established himself as one of Sweden's most personal and skillful pianists. He has a highly developed touch and a technique that is impressive, and he has been favourably compared to pianists such as Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and Jan Johansson.
After completing studies at the Malmö College of music, he was soon engaged in a large variety of groups and projects.
Jacob is the leader of his own Trio and Jacob Karlzon Big Five and is a member of Peter Asplund Quartet, Tolvan Big Band and Double Standards etc.
He has played and recorded with such well known names as Billy Cobham (on the CD "North by NorthWest"). Lina Nyberg (on the CD "Temper"), Viktoria Tolstoy (on the CD "Blame It On My Youth"), Bob Berg, Kenny Wheeler, Tim Hagans, Norma Winstone, Silje Nergaard, Fredrik Lundin, Trine-Lise Vaering, Cæcilie Norby, Rigmor Gustafsson, Anders Bergcrantz, Cennet Jönsson etc.
